THE RECORD · ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility
This site is built to be read, operated, and understood by everyone. Measurement culture applies to access the same way it applies to everything else here: stated commitments, checked against reality, corrected when they fall short.
What we hold ourselves to
- CONTRAST · Primary text measures about 17:1 against the canvas; secondary text about 6.6:1. Both clear WCAG 2.1 AA. Meaning is never carried by color alone.
- KEYBOARD · Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a designed 2px focus ring that is never removed.
- MOTION · With prefers-reduced-motion set, every animation on the site is disabled, videos never autoplay, and each clip is replaced by a still frame with a duration-labeled play link. The site remains fully legible static.
- MEDIA · Every image and clip carries hand-written alternative text that describes the footage like a person would. Example clips play muted by design; their captions state what they are and where they came from.
- STRUCTURE · Semantic landmarks, one h1 per page, real inputs behind every styled control, and text that scales with browser settings.
Where we are honest about gaps
Real Cut is in early access and this site is audited by us, not yet by a third party. If something here does not work with your screen reader, your keyboard, or your settings, that is a defect and we want the report.
