Priced against an editor, not a caption tool.
A human editor charges $50–150 per short. Real Cut is trained on those editors’ judgement and priced so you can run it every day. Refinements are free and unlimited on every plan.
1 credit = 1 minute of raw footage taken through a full first cut.

EARLY-ACCESS PRICING PREVIEW — SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT GA
1 CREDIT = 1 EDIT-MINUTE. THE API BILLS THE SAME UNIT THE PRODUCT BILLS.
PACKS — EARLY-ACCESS PREVIEW
CALLS RETURN 503 MODEL_NOT_DEPLOYED UNTIL RCM 1 CLEARS OUR QUALITY BAR. KEYS MINT TODAY; THE CONTRACT IS LIVE.
Plans include the same credits — see pricing. API packs are on sale: the credits work today over MCP and the app. Direct REST inference (POST /api/model/v1/edit) stays 503 until RCM 1 arms.
Self-serve keys and credits →The comparison that matters isn’t caption tools — they template. It’s a human editor at $50–150 per short. Editors are the heroes here — we pay them to teach it.
Why is the free tier free?
The free tier is designed around an exchange: you share edit decisions — the timing and structure choices you make when you refine a cut — never your footage. Today nothing of yours trains RCM 1; when the exchange goes live it will be explicit, opt-in at signup, and never retroactive. Your footage stays yours and is never part of the exchange, on any plan.
Do you train on my data on paid plans?
No — never silently. Paid tiers train nothing by default. Any change to data settings is opt-in, never opt-out, and nothing is pre-checked.
Do you take a license to my content?
No perpetual-license language, ever. You grant us only what is needed to process your footage and hand the finished cut back to you.
What exactly is a credit?
1 credit = 1 edit-minute of raw footage processed. Ten minutes of raw takes through a full first cut costs 10 credits. Extra variations on the same upload cost half rate. Chat refinements and time-anchored notes are free — fair use is 20 recuts per cut, disclosed here so the meter never surprises you.
What does early access mean?
We’re training RCM 1 now. Onboarding runs in small batches, edges are rough, and the examples on this site are cut by human editors — the craft the model learns. Founding pricing is locked while you stay subscribed.
What happens to my founding price later?
It holds. $19 Creator and $59 Pro stay locked for as long as you stay continuously subscribed — 500 seats total.
Can a team share one Real Cut subscription?
Studio is a single login today. Multi-seat workspaces with pooled credits are in build; until they ship, one subscription is one seat. Write to zan@realcut.ai if your team wants in early.
Is there an API?
Studio includes REST API access and MCP. Keys can be minted today and the request contract is published; calls return 503 until RCM 1 clears our quality bar.
How do the app, Connect, and the API relate?
One credit pool, one unit, three doors. The app is the subscription — Free, Creator, Pro, or Studio. Connect is the standalone door for MCP alone, priced between Creator and Pro. The API bills the same credits as both, at API-specific volume rates. Every door spends from the same balance.
