Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. Real Cut (realcut.ai, operated by NotBW d.o.o.) uses a short list of them, plus a small amount of browser storage. This page describes each one, what it does, and how long it lasts. Nothing optional is active until you say yes in the consent banner.

These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.

• Authentication cookies (set by Better Auth, our first-party authentication system) — keep you signed in and secure your session. The main ones are better-auth.session_token (your session, up to 7 days) and better-auth.session_data (a short-lived session cache). Depending on how you sign in you may also see better-auth.dont_remember, better-auth.account_data, and better-auth.last_used_login_method (remembers which sign-in button you used last, 30 days). On our secure production domain these names carry a __Secure- prefix, and a large session may be split across numbered parts. They clear when you sign out.
• user_consent — remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again. Lasts 12 months.
• rc_currency — pins the currency you first saw prices in, so the price you read is the price you are charged. Lasts 12 months. Contains a currency code, nothing else.

Set only if you accept attribution in the consent banner — for example after arriving through a referral link.

• rc_ref — records the referral code you arrived with, so the person who referred you gets credit if you sign up. Lasts 60 days. Contains a referral code, not your identity.
• rc_attr — records how you first found us: the landing page, campaign tags in the link, and the date. Recorded once and not overwritten. Lasts 60 days.

If you decline, referral credit may not be attributable to the person who referred you.

• PostHog — our product analytics. Loads only if you accept analytics cookies. It stores identifiers in your browser’s localStorage (keys starting with ph_), not in cookies, and sends usage events (pages visited, features used) to PostHog’s EU servers. No session recording. We use it to see which pages convince and which features get used.

• Meta pixel (_fbp, _fbc) — ad-conversion cookies set by Meta if you accept marketing cookies. With the same consent, we also send conversion events to Meta from our server (Meta calls this the Conversions API); those events can include a hashed form of your email, your IP address, and the cookie identifiers above. If you decline marketing cookies, the pixel does not load and nothing about you is sent to Meta — from the browser or from our server. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy.

When you use the product we record our own first-party usage events (for example: a cut was requested, a video was downloaded) together with technical data. This is server-side measurement, stays with us, and is covered in the Privacy Policy. It runs only if you allowed analytics or marketing cookies — if you declined both, these measurement events are not stored at all. If you declined marketing cookies, no measurement record about you is sent to any advertising platform.

You can change your choices at any time:

• Use Cookie Settings in the site footer to reopen the consent banner. Withdrawing is as easy as accepting was.
• Delete or block cookies in your browser settings

Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of advertising measurement.
